After years of city life, Anita & I moved to idyllic Dehradun, embracing the beauty of slow living, surrounded by fresh air and nature.
Having been enthusiastic hosts and passionate cooks all our lives, we celebrate our retirement by opening up our home and lives to others like us, who seek a retreat close to nature.

Purkul - Our slice of heaven…
Chakk 109 is located on a river bend (like a seasonal river) in Purkul, a small, scenic village in Doon; the perfect setting for a nature walk & riverside picnic.
It hosts the bollywood favourite -> The Purkul Project, along with other local homegrown cottage industries like -> Stree Shakti led by Mrs Chinni Swami.
The upcoming Ropeway project TBL in 2026, will connect Purkul to Musoorie via the ropeway.

Chakk 109 - The Name
Our Roots
Our ancestors migrated from a small village, Chakk 109, in Layalpur district of Pakistan (now Faislabad) during the partition. They struggled for many years before they could buy their first home in India. It was destiny that the house number allocated to them in a lottery was 109 in Haridwar.
